Edward Street is proud to host an annual art show that allows children from participating programs in Central Massachusetts to showcase their artistic talents, each year centering on a different theme. Below you can view artwork from past shows, as well as learn more about the current year’s show.
Past Programs
'Tell Me About It' — Trauma-Informed Art Activities for Young Children
Children experienced the power of ‘process art’ to communicate feelings and as a productive outlet. Young children who have experienced trauma often struggle to express their feelings and may find traditional verbal communication challenging.
Weaving 1, 2, 3 – Math, Motor Skills, and Masterpieces
Weaving can be as easy as 1, 2, 3 and it’s a powerful learning activity that introduces fine motor skills, early math concepts such as spatial awareness and patterning, and the cultural connections weaving has to everyday objects.
Where in the World is Piet Mondrian?
The influence of early 20th century artist Piet Mondrian and contemporary artist Bryce Hudson can be seen in the work of young children at Where in the World is Piet Mondrian?, our third annual children’s art show.
Play Through the Lens of a Child
What happens when you give young children digital cameras and let them play? They get right to work, and we get a window into what makes them tick, and how we can help.
Spring is Bursting Out All Over
Edward Street was proud to host this young children's art exhibit in the spring of 2021. Each stroke and fingerprint provides us a window into their thinking and learning.
