Nea graduated from Becker College with an associate’s degree in early childhood education and went on to receive her bachelor’s degree from Anna Maria College, studying Human Services with an Early Education concentration.  In 2024, Nea attained her master’s degree in early childhood education from Worcester State University.

Nea began her career in early childhood education in the summer after graduating from high school by working at the YWCA in Thompson, Connecticut.  While attending college, she worked at Webster Square Daycare in Worcester and then Montachusett Opportunity Council’s (MOC) Head Start program in Clinton, Massachusetts.  While at MOC Head Start, she was promoted to Education Specialist, an administrative position.  Yearning to return to the classroom, she joined the staff at the Worcester YWCA’s childcare program in 2012.  At the YWCA, she was given the opportunity to work as the Assistant Director of the summer camp, a job which she performed for two summers.  In 2016, she joined Worcester Public School’s Head Start program and has enjoyed learning the Reggio Emilia approach to education.

Nea believes that creating a successful learning environment for children begins with strong collaboration between families, educators, and the community.  She is looking forward to working alongside early childhood educators to enhance existing best practices using innovative and creative approaches.
